Open Form, Seattle

After our first Skin Contact party we immediately envisioned what the space could become. Beautiful architecture, high ceilings, a room furnished like a real home instead of a club. So we partnered with Open Form to build it a Klipsch Heritage system inspired by David Mancuso's original loft parties, sized for this room instead of borrowed from a club.

We lifted the Cornwalls onto the subs because mids and highs fired at floor level were getting muffled by a packed crowd. We kept the subs low so people feel the bass without it drowning out conversation off the floor. The Heresys fly from the rear, enveloping the room in warm fill instead of throwing sound across it. Rotel monoblocks give each fill its own chassis and ground. The DSP runs multiple inputs, DJ mixer, listening turntable, streamer, so the room shifts from a packed set to a quiet afternoon without touching a cable. We picked the Anthem for the Cornwalls because of how honestly it reproduces sound, a pairing built for the music rather than the gear. Crites 15s went in over other 15s because the driver is a clone of the Cornwall's own woofer, so the sub matches the mains instead of just complementing them.

The room runs on a small Linux DSP appliance and a control app built from scratch, so venue staff manage the whole system, zone levels, source switching, saved setups, from their phones. No mixing board knowledge required, and no late-night phone call when something needs adjusting.
