Splay Geometry

  • Eye bolts located 8"–10" outboard of table corner positions on the beam
  • ~12° off plumb provides lateral restoring force — no wall contact needed
  • Use a plumb bob to mark floor positions directly below each eye bolt before drilling
  • Pre-drill pilot hole for each lag eye bolt — 5/16" bit, 3" deep into beam soffit

Set-up / Teardown

  • Lag eye bolts stay in beam permanently — painted white, barely visible at 16 ft
  • Everything else — hangers, quick links, cables, turnbuckles — travels with the table
  • Set-up: roll in, lift each hanger to its eye bolt, thread quick link through both, tighten sleeve — 4 connections, done
  • Teardown: loosen and remove 4 quick links, table rolls out with all hardware attached

Table Height

  • Target surface height: 37" finished
  • Dial in via turnbuckles on first install — mark position with gaff tape
  • Height does not change between events once set

Isolation Logic

  • 30N-X-76 spring hangers attenuate structure-borne vibration from beam
  • Zero floor contact eliminates direct floor bounce transmission entirely
  • Splayed cable geometry provides passive lateral stability — no wall or floor bracing needed
